Podcast Episode 0013

Welcome back to the R and D Music Podcast.  This is lucky Episode 13 and today we're looking at the classical music crossover and the origins of sheet music.

As far back as I can remember, my Mom liked classical music.  But not just any classical music.  I'm talking about the vinyl record series called Hooked On Classics.  These were an early version of what is now called a classical crossover.  The collection of classical songs mixed with pop electro-style drum beats gave me a beat to follow and made songs easier for me to understand and enjoy.  This episode's selections can only be described as the next evolution of that.

Podcast Episode 12

Hello everyone and welcome back to the R and D music Podcast.  Today marks the dirtiest of the dozen podcasts so far and its one that should definately be kept from impressionable ears.

Sexuality and modern music date back as far as the recording of sound.  Examples can be found everywhere and according to some folks who have more time on their hands than they know what to do with, they wrote a little something about it that I'd like to share with you.

As always, we're available for free on iTunes and Stitcher, or through the blog here under the Podcast tab.

Thanks for tuning in and we'll catch up to you next time.

Podcast Episode 0010

Hello everyone and welcome back to The Rum And Drum Music Podcast.  This is episode 10 and we're looking into the sub-genre of jazz music today.  The line between big band and swing music is very hard to see from the seat of a music fan.  Artists and scholars define it through notations and measures, but for someone like me it's judged by its sound.

We're going to highlight a little of the old and a little of the new on the show today, as well as learn a bit about what was happening around the world and at home during the birth of this enduring style of music.
